Perrie & Craig’s Dudsbury Golf Club Wedding

Last Saturday saw me heading for a Dudsbury Golf Club wedding just ten minutes outside Bournemouth. The weather was grey with heavy showers falling, but the forecast was good and I had high hopes of it clearing later for us to get out and make the most of the parkland at the country club.

Perrie was busy getting ready when I arrived, enjoying her preparations with bridesmaids & her mum. The theme of the day was sunflower yellow, perfectly set off with touches of navy blue. The bridesmaids were in navy whilst Perrie herself set off her bespoke dress (created by her dressmakers from selected parts of different bridal gowns!) with brilliant yellow converse, and a fabulous bouquet of sunflowers.

The girls were eventually joined by Perrie’s brother, who was giving her away, and together they walked the short distance from their room to Bentley’s Restaurant, where a nervous Craig was waiting with his best man and the guests.

The ceremony over, a very happy Mr & Mrs walking back down the aisle were surprised by an illicit confetti throw – naughty of the guest (the cleaners won’t be thanking them later!), but it did raise a grin from the surprised couple.

Everyone headed out onto the front terrace for the official confetti shot on the steps, which we managed to combine with a big group shot at same time.

The forecasters had been right, and as everyone relaxed and mingled with their drinks the October sunshine was gorgeous – perfect autumnal wedding weather at last.

I took the bridal party and the parents onto one of the nearby fairways for some family formals, and Craig & Perrie grabbed the opportunity to enjoy the tree swing!

We returned to the rest of the guests who had drifted indoors now the room had been turned around, and everyone found their seats for the wedding breakfast. There was just one speech from the groom before the cutting of the cake (which prettily picked up the sunflowers theme).

While the room was once again being turned around for the evening, I nipped out with Craig & Perrie in a couple of golf buggies to a lovely spot down by the lake for a peaceful interlude in the golden late afternoon sunshine.

By the time we returned to the clubhouse the evening guests were beginning to arrive and the band was setting up ready for first dance.

Congratulations Craig & Perrie!
