The Wedding of Lizzie & Duncan – The Manor Hotel, West Bexington, Dorset
Last Saturday was dry…but it was cold…very cold indeed. Still the daffodils were doing their level best to brighten the countryside and it didn’t matter anyway because Lizzie and Duncan were getting married…again. Well, they were sort of getting married, just without the formal paperwork. Lizzie and Duncan had actually got officially married twenty four hours earlier in Southampton General Hospital, a strange place for a wedding you might say! Unfortunately for the family that’s where Lizzies father is currently residing after getting over a major proceedure. So it made sense you see..one wedding for Dad to be involved in directly and another to share with everyone else…a lovely idea I say and the best of both worlds resolving a difficult situation.
So…it was cold…very cold…I arrived in the very lovely Dorset village of Long Bredy to visit the family home and catch up with the girls and the usual Pre wedding preparations…a housefull indeed! Then on to the lovely parish church St Peters where we witnessed a very lovely second marriage ceremony.
Out into the cold ..brrrrr … and off to the Manor Hotel in West Bexington down by the fabulous Dorset coastline just off the very famous Chesil bank for Lizzie and Duncan’s lovely wedding reception. A warm welcome awaited along with a warm set of rooms and Marquee beautifully heated…Lizzie fancied the beach for a few pictures…did I say it was cold! ;-) Down on the beach it was positively Antarctic …even the Penguins had stayed at home…we had fun though, but were glad to be back in the warm again a little while later to enjoy the rest of the days festivities.
After speeches, cake and dinner a fab Ratpack band saw to it that the dancefloor remained truly throbbing, a very fab day indeed.
A very lovely day Lizzie and Duncan, thank you for allowing me to share it wth you…see you soon.
A few of my favourite images from Lizzie and Duncan’s fab Dorset weddimg I would like to share with you …
