Summer Plumber Manor Wedding of Terri & Martin

Im not going to lie, but getting back to photographing a wedding, even a small one restricted by current government legislation was a real godsend. I absolutely love what I do, and when I was asked by Terri and Martin to photograph their Plumber Manor wedding (which is really handy as it’s literally just down the road to me) last weekend, I simply jumped at the chance.

A beautiful hot summers day, wall to wall sunshine, I arrived at Plumber Manor to find a few of Terri and Martin’s family and close friends already mingling in the shade under the canopy of some of the large and very elegant trees that adorn the Plumber Manor gardens. It was going to be an outdoor wedding and the marquee had already been set up on the front lawn, with the sides removed to help let as much air through as possible, with these temperatures we were going to need it too!

Soon Martin arrived at Plumber along with his best man, and then more family and friends gathered with him as they made their way to the marquee to wait for Terri’s arrival. The sound of an engine on the long drive, and soon across the bridge and up the tree lined avenue came Terri driven by her chief bridesmaid in a blue open top Mercedes. A quick visit with the registrar indoors and then it was time for Terri escorted by her father and son to process across the lawn to the marquee to find Martin and her family and friends waiting for her.

A short but funny and touching ceremony ensued and soon Terri and Martin were officially Mr & Mrs. Then to rapturous applause, they walked the short grassy aisle back out into the hot sunshine to be greeted with a much needed glass of something very cold and very bubbly!

In the lazy afternoon August sunshine Terri Martin and their family and friends gently celebrated with glasses of fizz and yummy canapes and laughed joked and told stories, just happy to be together and married at last.

Soon, as it is customary, it was time for the few official family photographs, preceded by the traditional showering with confetti of course! Then Terri Martin and I made our excuses and took our leave from the crowd and headed off into the very lovely grounds of Plumber Manor for a little quiet time and some romantic pictures.

Eventually we returned to the main lawns in front of Plumber Manor to rejoin Terri and Martin’s family and guests and it was time for me to leave. As this was a 2020 COVID wedding there was no reception for me to photograph this time of course, but even so it was a wonderful day and well worth every moment. I know times are not ‘normal’ at this current time, but it doesn’t stop life carrying on, it’s up to each one of us to make the best of it as we can. Certainly Terri and Martin took that spirit of triumph over adversity in both hands and whilst it might not have been the day that they originally planned it was still none the less a beautiful day and they are I know as happy as happy can be to be husband and wife. Love conquers all!

Congratulations Terri and Martin it was a privilige to be part of your special day x
