A couple of weeks ago on a very fine and sunny late Summers day, I headed down to Dorset’s very fabulous Jurassic coast to the lovely Smedmore House which overlooks Kimmeridge bay for the wonderful wedding of Sara and Thomas.
Sara and Thomas are Austrian but both live and work in the UK. In fact Sara and Thomas had been keeping a little secret, they had in fact already officially got married…that is to say they had performed the legal requirements, but they hadn’t had a ‘wedding’! Today was to be that day!
Family and friends over from Austria joined in a very lovely and personal ceremony performed in the beautiful gardens of Smedmore House. Warmed not only by the late summer sun but by the love shared by everyone blessing the wedding rings as they were passed around, Thomas and Sara exchanged their vows and were proclaimed husband and wife.
Drinks and croquet on the lawn and a few family photographs, then Sara Thomas and I slipped away down to the stunning Kimmeridge bay itself where the water sparkled in the sunshine and we were able to capture some very lovely images for their album.
Away to the marquee and dinner and speeches…all too soon darkness comes, but coloured lanterns light the way and soon the marquee is awash with colour and sound as the band kicks in and Sara and Thomas hit the floor for their first dance.
A wonderful day indeed :-)
